How to Use a Concordance
A Bible concordance helps students locate any Scripture passage in a designated version of the Bible. Some Bible concordances include the Hebrew or Greek words that match the English word. The easiest way to use most Bible Concordances is to:
Begin with the word you are researching and find that word in the main concordance, which should list every occurrence of every word in the Bible. If you are looking for a specific occurrence of that word, you should read the context lines until you find the reference.
The context lines may vary by concordance, but should include two segments or sections. From left to right, they should be: The text of the Scripture in which the reference word appears; then, the reference to the Book, chapter, and verse where it may be found. If your concordance has a Hebrew and/or Greek dictionary, a third segment or section of the context line will include a reference number to the Hebrew and Greek dictionary of your concordance.
