This is the first in a series of sermons that attempts to answer the question "Why are there so many churches?" The answer is found in studying a blend of the historical and the Biblical. Two important Biblical points are made. There is only ONE "Holy Father" (God) and Jesus is the ONLY head of the church.
The resignation of Pope Benedict has resulted in much curiosity about who will become the next "head" of the Roman Catholic Church. Have you ever wondered, though, what the Bible says about the foundation of the Lord's church? Who is the head of the church? Was Peter the first pope? Etc. Join Eric as he lovingly and compassionately considers Matthew 16:16-18 and other relevant texts to answer these questions. The Bible does not teach that we will feel "butterflies, goose bumps or tingles" after baptism. The Bible DOES teach, however, that a baptized believer can expect and enjoy certain feelings.
