Part two of a brief study of the Church. This message is presented by Dennis Jones. Part one of a brief study of the Church. This message is presented by Dennis Jones. What does the Bible say about leadership in the church? Who is the head of the church? What is the role of elders, deacons, and preachers? Join Eric as he provides biblical answers to these questions. At one point in His ministry, Jesus told a scribe, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." There are many people today who are also not far from the kingdom of God. Join Eric as he discusses what the Bible says about entering the kingdom of God. The recent events in Washington pertaining to the governmental shutdown has gathered nearly everyone's attention. Did you know, though, that the Bible teaches about a government that will never shutdown? Join Eric as he considers this timely issue. This is the first in a series of sermons that attempts to answer the question "Why are there so many churches?" The answer is found in studying a blend of the historical and the Biblical. Two important Biblical points are made. There is only ONE "Holy Father" (God) and Jesus is the ONLY head of the church.
The resignation of Pope Benedict has resulted in much curiosity about who will become the next "head" of the Roman Catholic Church. Have you ever wondered, though, what the Bible says about the foundation of the Lord's church? Who is the head of the church? Was Peter the first pope? Etc. Join Eric as he lovingly and compassionately considers Matthew 16:16-18 and other relevant texts to answer these questions. |
